Celine Dion Husband, Rene Angélil, 73, now feeds on feeding tube. The 46-year-old singer burst into tears when she disclosed to Deborah Roberts that now Angélil has to be nourished on feeding tube. Dion announced her leave of absence in August to care for her husband who was diagnosed with throat cancer.

Celine Dion interview comes after she appeared this week to announce her return on stage in August for her Las Vegas residency shows. Celine Dion husband has been diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999 and had the tumor operated in December 2013, the USA Today reports.

"He can't eat so I feed him,' Dion said to ABC News reporter Deborah Roberts as she was wiping her tears. "He's got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day."

The brave singer said that despite the pain of dealing with Celine Dion husband's sickness, they continue "to take life one day at a time," and "choosing to live."

Dion has opened up with PEOPLE regarding her willingness to take up again her residency concert on August 27 despite Celine Dion husband battle with throat cancer. She insisted it was her husband and manager who wish her to continue her work.

Dion continued that Angélil will be there at the premier night to watch her perform.

"I am scared of losing him, because it's bad," she says in PEOPLE's this week issue. "But I have to show myself, my husband and my kids that I'm strong and we're okay."
