Don't Underestimate Rapinoe and Team USA

Megan Rapinoe, member of the USA team for the FIFA Womens World Cup is not to be taken likely. The 29-year old scored two goals for USA in their game against Autralia, winning it with a score of 3-1. They were able to win in front of a huge American audience at the Winnipeg Stadium in Canada. USA's goalkeeper Hope Solo tested her skills against team Australia's Emily van Egmond during the early part of the game.

USA scores first with Megan Rapinoe's amazing shot. After the a quick goal by Australia's Lisa De vanna, USA strikes back with another goal by Christen Press during the second half of the game. Rapinoe also has a knack for delivering in the clutch. Her second goal provided much-needed insurance and allowed a U.S. team that had been nervous all night to finally loosen up.

Jill Ellis, Coach for Team USA had this to say about Rapinoe, "Megan thrives in these big games, these big moments,". He also said, "She's got ice running in her veins, but a lot of passion inside of her, and she's a game-changer. That's what makes her special."

Finally 15 minutes after USA's second goal, Megan Rapinoe gave USA the winning goal by taking the ball, running the full length of the pitch, getting passed the defenders, and scoring past Australia's Goalkeeper, Melissa Barbieri. Their victory was well deserved and is also another step in their goal to win this years FIFA Womens World Cup and bring it to the USA.

The Womens World cup is held in Canada this year. The last time The tournament was held in Canada was in 2011. It is also the first time since 2011 that the World cup will be held in North America.

Team USA is a crowd favorite expected to win the World Cup. This team is now ranked 2nd in the world and they are set on winning the World Cup this year. Strong teams like Japan, England and defending champions, Africa are also competing this year.
