President Obama's re-election is facing some criticism for a revised American flag: with red and white stripes, and in the place of the 50 stars there is Obama's campaign logo.
The Obama campaign tweeted saying "A poster to say there are no red states or blue states, only the United States."
According to the Obama campaign website, the "flag" poster was designed by Ross Bruggink and Dan Olson of Studio MPLS. There were only 250 of these posters made.
Interestingly, the flag resembles that of Abraham Lincoln's presidential campaign poster in 1860. The banner included a drawing of Lincoln's face in the field of blue, surround by white stars.
Obama has frequently been compared to Abraham Lincoln, who was also a great orator. At the bicentennial of Lincoln's birth, the President made the following statement:
It's a humbling task, marking the bicentennial of our 16th president's birth -- humbling for me in particular because it's fair to say that the presidency of this singular figure who we celebrate in so many ways made my own story possible.
Some however took to twitter to criticize the Obama campaign for the flag poster:
