Donald Trump $500 million Lawsuit against Univision for Ending Miss USA Contract

Donald Trump, a US presidential candidate and real estate mogul on Tuesday  filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision over the Spanish-language TV network's decision of terminating the contract to broadcast Trump's upcoming Miss USA pageant.

Last week, Univision said that when Mr Trump announced he was running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump made an insulting remark about Mexican immigrants ,that's why they ended their contract to broadcast the Miss USA pageant on July 12.

Univision was accused by the 19-page lawsuit labeled "thinly veiled attempt"  by Haim Saban, the network's principal owner who is also a Clinton fundraiser. The lawsuit zeros in on the attempt of the network to choke Mr Trump's freedom of speech in order to boost Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Donald Trump officially announced his candidacy on June 16, and maid a strong accusation that rapists and other criminals are sent to the United States by Mexico.

Trump said at the time: "They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some I assume are good people, but I speak to border guards and they tell us what we are getting."

The network Univision previously said that Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans played important role in the U.S. for its work ethic, love for family, strong religious values - and they will continue it to help build the future of their own country. The network confirmed that they will not be airing the Miss USA pageant on July 12th or even work with any projects under Trump Organization.

On the other hand, Trump banned any Univision's employee to step foot in one of his properties, sending a signed letter to the company's CEO.

Trump stated, "Please congratulate your Mexican Government officials for having made such outstanding trade deals with the United States," Trump wrote in the letter. "However, inform them that should I become President, those days are over. We are bringing jobs back to the U.S. Also, a meaningful border will be immediately created, not the laughingstock that currently exists."
