Amy Schumer Met With Jon Stewart, Turned Down 'Daily Show' Job

Ever wondered what an Amy Schumer fronted Daily Show might be like? Well it seems like we'll never know. The 34 year old comedian recently went on Howard Stern's SiriusXM last Tuesday and said that she "hung out" with soon to be former Daily Show Host Jon Stewart about and discussed the possibility of succeeding him, but ultimately turned down the job offer. Here's what she had to say:

"We had a piece of pizza and talked about the possibility of me hosting," Schumer said. "I think he was there to answer my questions."

In the end Schumer said she felt The Daily Show wasn't the gig for her, telling Stern:

"If I heard that I was hosting The Daily Show, I would be like, 'Give me a fucking break, I really thought about it but it just wasn't right for me... Just picturing being in the same building every day... I just pictured all of the fittings, like all of the blazers I would have to wear. And I was like, 'I don't want to do that.'"

However she is rooting for Trevor Noah, the South African comic who eventually landed the coveted job, saying that he will be "so much better at it than I could've ever been."

Schumer's appearance on Stern's radio show comes after she told The Daily Beast that Comedy Central had approached her about taking over once Stewart hangs it up for good in August. She said that she was deeply flattered at having been considered for the job saying:

"Them asking me like made me cry. That means so much to me that they believed in me like that."
