Inside Out and Jurassic Rule Over Terminator and Magic Mike XXL At July 4th Box Office

Walt Disney Pictures's Inside Out was in a tight race with Jurassic World at the July 4th weekend box office. But both the mophvies were ahead of the new entries Terminator: Genisys and Magic Mike XXL.

Universal estimated Jurassic World's weekend at $30.9 million and with a domestic total of $558.2 million in North America, it was the fourth best movie income of all up against The Dark Knight's $534.9 million. Disney earned $30.1 million for Inside Out with a domestic cumulative audience of $246.2 million. The box office's final race won't be called until Monday morning.

Terminator: Genisys took the No. 3 spot with an estimated weekend gross of $27 million - $28 million range for a five day debut of $43 million for a revival of the storied franchise, Terminator had a poor start and Jurassic World's reign seems to be unshaken.

Terminator: Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor, and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his role as the /Terminator. Emilia Clarke plays Sarah who is John Connor's mother. Jason Clarke who plays John Connor. In the film, John Connor sends Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese) back in time to protect his mother, and eventually things went wrong.

The male-stripper movie sequel Magic Mike XXL with a $12 million weekend hit and a five-day debut of $27.1 million came in fourth place - compared the opening of the first Magic Mike with $39.1 million.

Magic Mike XXL of Warner Bros. hoped to reach $40 million-$55 million of the film's first five days.  After female fans started rushing to see the movie, the sequel had won on Wednesday but after that it declined fast.

Ted 2 of director Seth MacFarlane did make the top five, since debuting last weekend, the R-rated comedy sequel has failed to impress as the film fell suddenly of 67 percent to $11 million for a domestic total of $58.3 million.
