Lena Headey’s Body Double For That Walk of Shame Scene in ‘Game of Thrones’ Breaks Her Silence!

It's been known that Lena Headey used a body double for the "Walk of Shame" sequence in HBO's hit series, "Game of Thrones." Now, the actress, Rebecca Van Cleave, breaks her silence to talk about that cringe-worthy scene.

Rebecca Van Cleave obviously performed the scene baring all her glory as the production team shot the scene in Dubrovnik in October.

Lena Headey, on the other hand, was clad in a "beige shift" before the visual effects team genetically merged the two actresses' enactment.

Van Cleave tells Entertainment Weekly, "It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined. I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing."

The casting seemed to pose a great challenge as well, with over 1,000 actresses auditioning for the part. Seven actresses were then short-listed and were flown across the globe in Belfast to meet with the show's producers.

The body double has never actually performed a nude scene before. Ironically, Rebecca says "It was actually the most comfortable casting I've ever had, considering."

Lena Headey decided to forego going nude for the scene "for several reasons." One of which was the fact that the Emmy nominee wanted to stay focused on the emotions she had to portray. In fact, Headey didn't even want to be there during the casting.

"I was like, 'Listen guys, she happens to have a beautiful body, but I don't do casting.' If somebody is brave enough to do this, I applaud it," Headey said.

Even director David Nutter said that the casting was one of the most important parts for the finale. "We needed somebody who could do The Walk of Shame physically, somebody who could match Lena's integrity, intensity and sensibility," said Nutter.

Nutter even commended Van Cleave saying, "We found a tremendous actress in Rebecca; she was a godsend. The courage of this girl, who's never done anything like this in her life, who understood what was important about this [...] once I had her I felt like I could accomplish anything."

Rebecca Van Cleave is an American actress. She has had theater experience, along with grabbing some minor roles at the mere age of five.
