'The X-Files' Reboot Trailer: Watch David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson With Trademark Flashlights [VIDEO]

The fans of the hit TV series 'The X-Files' are getting excited over the return of Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). The recent release of a Twitter picture showing Mulder and Scully on the set of the reboot instantly became viral.

FOX is banking on the hype by launching an 'X-Files' trailer called '201 Days of X-Files.' The trailer shows some of the cases that Mulder and Scully have worked on in the past. The teaser also encourages the viewers to purchase 'The X-Files' DVDs and watch all of the previous 201 episodes of the series.

Gillian Anderson had spoken out about reprising her role as the skeptical FBI agent Dana Scully, saying that it was difficult to get into character.

"It feels like it's been a long time since I've played her," the 'Hannibal' actress admitted. "I can't remember what year the movie was, but it felt like she was further away from me than I'd thought she would be."

Scully might look the same in the new series, except for her hair. According to Good 4 Utah, Gillian Anderson has been told not to dye her hair red for 'The X-Files' reboot.

"I was really looking forward to it (dyeing her hair red) but I was told that if I went red that would be fine, but getting back to blonde I would go bald," she said.

It seems like years of constant dyeing had caused Gillian Anderson's hair to be brittle. The actress has opted to wear a wig for 'The X-Files' reboot.

The 13-part mini-series will also star Mitch Pileggi, who will reprise his role as Walter Skinner. William B. Davis, who played the character nicknamed 'Cancer Man,' will return to the show as well.

'The X-Files' reboot will premiere on FOX on January 26, 2016.
