Sasha Pieterse got tired of scrutiny about her body image. The actress posted an inspirational message in Instagram explaining to her fans about her sudden weight gain and urges her fans who have the same problem to deal the issue in a healthy way.
The president of a non- profit organization, Girls Above Society, Lauren Gally was inspired by her bravery and she wrote an open letter to Alison of the 'Pretty Little Liars.'
"I recently read an article on Ryan Seacrest's FB page and couldn't help but think about the fact that we are ALL "Under Construction." Lauren then stated that she support Pieterse "courage" and to "speak out to those who feel the need to judge and tear you down."
Then she stated that she is very thin due to "genetics." And people think that the secret of her skinny figure is that she always "throws up." Then she asked, "Why would anyone even think of such a thing?"
Then she further goes on, saying "This mindset is largely due to media. Full focus is placed on photoshopped models, filtered Instagram of epic proportions that leave girls believing that looking "perfect" is the answer to self-worth and love. No longer are our raw photos enough...we must alter the very person we are and this leaves girls feeling like they are not enough."
Then Lauren said that she applauded Sasha's bravery, it reminds her that women should be "empowering" each other instead of "tearing" each other apart. She then reminded the people that everyone has "unique abilities to offer as mentors to those who follow in our footsteps."
Then she closes her letter with an inspiring remark, "Why not create a positive change where all girls know they are enough....with confidence and self-worth we are our own Superheroes!"
