'Star Wars: Rogue One' Update: Which 'Sherlock' Actor Has Joined Felicity Jones and Diego Luna?

Disney and Lucasfilm are being very secretive when it comes to the standalone movie 'Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.' Since the film has been announced to be in production, nothing is known about the movie other than the fact that it would be directed by Gareth Edwards and would be about the Rebels fighting against the Empire.

Not much is known about the 'Rogue One' cast either. So far the only confirmed actors are Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Forest Whitaker.

It looks like the 'Star Wars: Rogue One' cast did get bigger. According to BBC, 'Sherlock' actor Jonathan Aris has added a new film role in his Spotlight page, where he wrote that he will portray Senator Jebel.

Unfortunately, the 'Star Wars: Rogue One' entry has just been deleted from Jonathan Aris' page. Did the 'Sherlock' actor make a mistake in posting about the new role?

According to GeekTyrant, the evidence of Jonathan Aris' involvement with 'Star Wars: Rogue One' may have been taken down by Disney and Lucasfilm. The studio may still be trying to keep information about the project under wraps.

In the BBC series 'Sherlock,' Jonathan Aris plays Anderson, a forensic scientist and the head of a conspiracy theory club that believed Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) faked his own death.

Although it is currently unclear whether Jonathan Aris will play Senator Jebel in 'Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One,' the actor is confirmed to appear in the upcoming 'Sherlock' Christmas Special.

'Star Wars: Rogue One' will also star Sam, Clalfin, Ben Mendolsohn and Riz Ahmed. The film will be set during the events of 'Episode IV: A New Hope' and might also feature a cameo from Darth Vader.

The original 'Star Wars' villain might make an appearance as a hologram projection.

'Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One' is scheduled for release on December 16, 2016.
