Jake Gyllenhaal On Losing Out Batman And Spider-Man Roles

Jake Gyllenhaal, as one of Hollywood's most talented actors, is currently promoting his boxing movie Southpaw. Gyllenhaal reminisced about the superhero roles he was at one time considered for. The actor was once being considered for the roles of both Batman and Spider-Man, but the American actor ended up not getting either big role.

Jake Gyllenhaal stated, "I believe whatever happens, happens for good. I was definitely open to both the roles (of Spider- Man and Batman). However, at a certain point you realize there is always someone more interesting, talented and ready to do the role. In any case, you are not going to get every role you go for. So you can say I neither rue nor am I thankful for having not worked on these superhero films."

During a pre-production of American film director, producer, writer and actor, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, Jake Gyllenhaal was considered as a replacement for Tobey Maguire, as Tobey got back injuries he sustained while filming Seabiscuit. But eventually, Tobey Maguire was able to return to do the work for Spider-Man 2. And also, Jake Gyllenhaal was about to get the lead role in Batman Begins which eventually went to Christian Bale.

Jake Gyllenhaal talked about his role in the movie Southpaw, Gyllenhaal said, "It was an intense role that was as demanding emotionally as it was challenging physically," Gyllenhaal also said, "I would agree that Southpaw was more about the emotions attached to the character's distress. However, the film does showcase adequate boxing violence, so there is plenty of action that goes on. The story is about how Billy uses his passion for boxing to get himself back on track after the loss of his wife and daughter."

The film Southpaw stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker. And Southpaw's producers are Antoine Fuqua, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Alan Riche, and Peter Riche
