Fallout 4: You Can Now Print Your Own 3D Pip-Boy

Not long ago, Bethesda announced a brand new Fallout - Fallout 4 - at this year's E3. The company not only unveiled the new Fallout after months of rumours, but also announced a stand-alone mobile game called Fallout Shelter, and most importantly, a pre-order offer that brought a real-life Pip-Boy for the fans.

However, what happened next was way beyond Bethesda's reckoning. The Pip-Boy accessory gimmick worked well for the company as it was flooded with numerous pre-orders for the game, with fans wanting to get their hands on the Pip-Boy. While the news is certainly a disappointment for fans who wanted the limited edition Pip-Boy, it seems there's a way out to get the popular accessory. Gamer and 3D printing aficionado Yvo de Haas has released a schematic on how to print a Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV. Sounds interesting, right?

Reports suggest that similar to Bethesda's official model this fan-made version of the accessory has been designed keeping in mind the need to fit a smartphone into it. This means you'll be able to interact with Fallout 4 via the mobile app you'll have strapped to your wrist via the Pip-Boy.

This means you'll be able to interact with Fallout 4 via the mobile app you'll have strapped to your wrist via the Pip-Boy. However, the 3D-printed model won't come with all the features of the official Bethesda product. But this version still maintains a level of originality with a couple of fancy orange LED lights.

The version even comes with a tape player and although it won't play the tapes, it will still pop open and accept them. As it seems, the 3D-printed Mark IV of the Pip-boy has buttons on the right side instead on the left. Haas is determined to keep the replica schematics as authentic as possible, so the device was made based on a few snippets from the game.
