James Bond ‘Spectre’: Sam Mendes Spills Beans On Daniel Craig Movie, ‘Spectre’ Origin Story Beyond ‘Casino Royale’ And ‘Skyfall’

At the time Daniel Craig was announced as the new James Bond in "Casino Royale," it was revealed that the 2006 film would be a reboot, not taking into account what had happened in the forty years before with the other five actors who have played the role; now, it has been revealed that James Bond's "Spectre," due out this fall, is taking another step in that direction.

Longtime fans of the world's most famous secret agent were delighted with Sam Mendes' first outing as a director of the franchise in "Skyfall," as the film brought back the elements of what made Bond incredible in older films such as Sean Connery's "Goldfinger," and James Bond "Spectre" will be following this lead while explaining Commander Bond a little further.

According to The Independent, Mendes has recently spoken about the James Bond "Spectre" movie, saying that while this is his last outing behind the scenes for the superspy, in fact it's "only the beginning of the story" the franchise wants to tell about the world's favorite Vodka Martini fan.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Mendes revealed that James Bond's "Spectre" will finally provide background for a character that has lacked it during fifty years - even though "Casino Royale" started to delve deeper into the reason why Bond behaves the way he does.

Craig's films have started a new path for the Bond character, and this James Bond "Spectre" movie goes back once more to explain how Bond came to be, the way we know him.

"The Bond creation myth never happened," said Mendes, according to Screen Crush. "I felt there was an opportunity there: What made him? And who were the people who affected him along the way? You're sort of telling the story backwards of how Bond became Bond."

The upcoming film will be featuring two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz in a role called "Franz Oberhauser," though longtime fans of the saga have been speculating for months that it might actually be Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Bond's arch-nemesis and the head of terrorist organization "S.P.E.C.T.R.E."

In any case, the premiere of the James Bond "Spectre" movie is only a few months away now!
