Connie Ditto Found: Missing Wife Found Hiding in Hotel Room after Husband Reporter Her Missing, Husband Arrested for Assault

Connie Ditto Found - Connie Ditto, a 41-year-old mother from Virginia, was found after she was reported missing by her husband, reports CBS affiliate WTVR. Connie's husband, Mark Ditto, said she briefly checked into a walk-in health clinic and has not contacted him since. Suspiciously enough, Mark was arrested on an assault charge after Connie Ditto was found.

Connie Ditto was found in Virginia three days following her husband filed a missing person report. According to the Canada Journal, Connie went to the clinic after telling her husband that she experienced severe head pain. Within that time, she allegedly sent mark text messages telling him she was taken to a hospital for treatment. She reportedly made sure to tell Mark "not to come."

The next time Connie's husband tried to contact Connie, her phone was allegedly turned off already, prompting Mark and her daughters to scan nearby hospitals, none of which had recorded Connie checking in. Mark then contacted police and told them he was worried about his wife's safety.

On Friday, Connie Ditto was found after police launched a search. Authorities found her at an Innsbrook hotel, reported CBS News.

However, shortly after Connie Ditto was found, the 41-year-old mother reportedly filed a protective order against Mark. According to a police source, she told police she had been hiding at the hotel because her husband assaulted her the week prior.

The Inquisitr reported that a week before Connie Ditto's disappearance, Mark Ditto told police Connie hit her head during a fall and that he feared she had "blacked out" somewhere.

Police haven't mentioned any details regarding Connie's condition after she was found. However, they charged Mark with assault and believed Mark's story of Connie falling to be made up.

"Officers found Miss Ditto and found probable cause to place domestic assault charges against Mark Ditto," according to Henrico Police Lt. Sal Mulé.

As for Mark, he said Connie's accusations are "totally false."

Many are suspicious as to the real nature of this "Connie Ditto found" story, with both sides of the fence believed. Some people say Mark is innocent, while others believe Connie had been injured due to an alcohol problem.

WTRV reported Mark Ditto saying Connie is suffering from "alcohol abuse and depression." He also said that the night that Connie Ditto went missing was a drunken night and that he and his daughters even fought to take her car keys away.

Records show Mark is no longer in custody at Henrico County Jail, according to The Mirror.

An investigation into the incident remains underway.
