One might cringe at the thought of eating one of these; they look like slimy slugs with spikes on them. There is nothing appetizing about them however they are quite popular in Asia and are often served as sushi.

Sardines are another fish that is loaded with protein; one cup contains 20.9 grams of protein. They have less than 200 calories per serving along with over 1600 milligrams of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. They are also quite good for controlling the blood sugar level which can help prevent diabetes. Sardines can be enjoyed in a variety of ways which include: grilling, sautéing, marinated and fried. They also work well paired with salad.

Shark cartilage has become a popular dietary supplement because some researchers believe it can help prevent cancer due to the fact that shark skeletons seem to be quite resistant against the deadly disease. It is not for certain but the thought caused it to gain popularity amongst a variety of people. It has a large amount of calcium and protein which can be used to increase the immune system. It is also used to help those with arthritis by decreasing inflammation in the joints.

It might sound strange that foods such as sea cucumber and sardines can have such positive effects on the human body. Researchers have concluded by conducting many studies that they sure do.
