Thursday, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will announce their fourth-quarter results. This will give an idea of what donut and coffee retailers are like in early 2013. The results will be displayed shortly after the donut company signed an agreement to expand its business into Taiwan. The Taiwan developer that signed the development with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is set to build 10 locations over the next 5 years, Investor's Business Daily, reported. "We are very excited and proud to turn on the Krispy Kreme hot light and introduce the Taiwanese consumer to the world famous Krispy Kreme doughnut brand," said Hung Chun Hsu, President of Huan Hsin Co., Ltd.

The doughnut company hopes extending their business into Asia; ends up producing better results than the company's previous IPO expansion. According to the Investor's Business Daily, the company expanded their brand too quickly. Krispy Kreme Dougnuts, built numerous locations across the US in a short period of time. The company's sales began to plummet when low carbohydrate and the Atkins Diet became popular. In May of 2004, CNN reported that Krispy Kreme Doughnut's stock decreased by $8.19. At that time the stock was $23.61 per share.

Throughout the decade, the company managed to bring themselves back up. They are offering consumers a variety of different donut flavors. Krispy Kreme recently created two new donuts; both of which contain real Oreo cookies in them. The company's new flavors are Cookies & Kreme DOUGHNUT and Cookies & Kreme CAKE. The donut company also offers mini donuts; these are perfect for children and adults that want to eat a dessert without consuming a large amount of calories.
