Sources are speculating that Emma Watson will play the lead role in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey; however, the studio has not confirmed it yet. Rumors spread this week that Watson is going to play Anastasia Steele due to information allegedly obtained from a hacking of celebrities' personal information this week.
Many Fifty Shades of Grey fans appear to want Emma Watson and Matt Bomer to play the lead roles. Watson is a great contender for the role of Anastasia Steele because she is young, innocent looking and is not afraid of doing provocative scenes. In The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the young star performed a strip tease. If the film adaptation of the erotic best-seller remains close to the book, the actress will participate in many scandalous scenes. Emma Watson is youthful looking, but she is also a talented actress.
Some people believe Fifty Shades of Grey is the erotic version of Twilight, which did well despite Kristen Stewart, the lead actress in the film franchise, receiving bad marks for her performance. The Fifty Shades of Grey franchise will definitely be geared towards adult women. They are probably going to be more critical of the actress playing Steele than teenage girls were of Bella Swan.
Bomer remains the fan favorite for the role of Christian Grey. Grey is a mysterious character, and at the same time brilliant, crazy and power hungry. Grey lusts after the innocent Steele. He lost his innocence at a young age although Steele remained pure (until meeting Grey). Bomer is good for this role because he is quite handsome, and he exudes the kind of charm that fans are looking for. He has a beautiful smile, tanned skin, and big blue eyes. Matt Bomer also has the mature look that Grey needs. In the book, Grey is a couple of years older than Steele. This is one of the reasons for her infatuation with Christian Grey.
The film is supposed to begin shooting this summer. Sources are speculating that it will be playing in theaters by early 2014. Fans of the series will have to wait a little bit longer, before they find out who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
