‘Fantastic Four’ Sequel: Despite Box Office And Critical Flop, Fox STILL Green Lighting Sequel – Invisible Woman Kate Mara Hasn’t Even Seen Film

Although the world had fairly low expectations about this year's reboot of the "Fantastic Four" franchise after the two fairly bad films starring Jessica Alba and Chris Evans last decade, there's little doubt in the fact that the 20th Century Fox superhero film was the biggest flop of the summer - and yet, there's a "Fantastic Four" sequel in the works.

Ever since the release of the 2015 movie, many details regarding errors in production have popped up, as director Josh Tank has blasted Fox execs for butchering the film's final cut, leading to its catastrophic reception, but that won't stop the "Fantastic Four" sequel from happening.

According to Cinema Blend, in spite of the commercial and critical flop the film was upon its release (it's only made $160 million worldwide after a $120 million budget and it holds a 9 percent rating in Rotten Tomatoes), writer and producer Simon Kinberg's still working on a "Fantastic Four" sequel.

Speaking to MTV about his film's flop, Kinberg said he's currently figuring out how the "Fantastic Four" sequel would happen, "figuring out what that movie would be" and hoping its main stars (such as Kate Mara, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell) will return for the second part.

As IGN reports while the "Fantastic Four" sequel is in the works, there's one cast member who still hasn't seen the final cut of the film: Mara, who played Invisible Woman Sue Storm - and at the time, Mara said she had "no idea if we'll make another one."

Right after the 2015 flop, Kinberg began working on another Fox Marvel property, as he also wrote and is currently producing "X-Men: Apocalypse," starring the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult.
