Alzheimer's disease has been affecting a lot of Americans and it's alarming how the number of people having this is now rising. For those who don't know what this disease is, this one affects the memory of a person and other significant brain functions at the later part of a person's life.
According to the Independent Mail, lowering the risk of heart disease could also lower the tendency of having Alzheimer's in the future. This also means that if one's diet is taken cared of, then the heart would be in good shape leading to prevention of getting Alzheimer's disease.
It was an information reported by the publication as rendered by the doctors at Mayo Clinic and a registered dietician named Mickela Mitchell. She is the one responsible for developing facts about "feeding the brain" with an aim to lower the risk of the many health issues that a person could acquire in this lifetime, which includes Alzheimer's.
Mitchell also pointed out how this disease has currently no cure. Nobody knows how to stop the progression of this disease as well. But the good news is according to recent studies, a person's diet could help strengthen the brain and can prevent a person from experiencing Alzheimer's and even Parkinson's disease.
A UK medical journal called The Lancet even confirmed this saying, "it is possible to reduce the risk of cognitive decline with a combination of eating a healthy diet, strength training, aerobic exercise, brain games and controlling weight and blood pressure." The Mediterranean Diet was also sighted that it may help to the prevention of Alzheimer's.
The Health Site supported this study by stating that if one can prevent obesity, then it is possible that the brain becomes healthy that it would to not have to suffer from Alzheimer's in the future.
The idea is to keep your brain healthy by eating right and a good health would just follow.
