Derrick Rose Rape Allegations: Chicago Bulls Guard Says The Story is False

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose reasserted his innocence when asked about his ongoing civil lawsuit and rape allegations at the Bulls’ media day.

The 26-year-old is reportedly being sued by an ex-girlfriend, who shockingly alleges that Derrick, along with two of his friends, drugged and gang raped her back in August 2013.

Now, after claiming the allegations were just an effort to obtain money, the NBA star is defending himself once again, this time claiming that the woman had actually consented to the sex, and is only pursuing charges because she’s upset over a sex toy they used on the night in question.

Derrick presented his side in court documents filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court and later obtained by TMZ.

In the documents, the 2011 NBA MVP claimed the alleged victim “consented to sexual interaction with more than one co-defendant on more than one occasion, consented to sexual interactions on the day in question, and invited the defendants to her apartment and buzzed them in.”

A statement released by Rose’s lawyers called the allegations “outrageous” and “a desperate attempt to shake down” the former MVP.

The NBA star goes on to say that the woman only became upset with him a few weeks later because she wanted to be reimbursed for one of the sex toys she bought and used during the night of the alleged assault. The woman only continued to get more upset when Derrick cut off communication with her. The woman is now suing for unspecified damages.

Rose also denied the allegations during a Bulls press conference on Monday. “I will be proven innocent, but at the same time it hasn’t affected anything. It’s not true,” Rose said. “I take it as motivation. I feel like the devil is just working.”

Rose’s hearing is set for February 2017 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
