George Miller Confirms More Mad Max, Quashes Man Of Steel 2 Rumors

Australian film director George Miller has just given us some insight into his future plans.

The mastermind behind The Mad Max franchise has confirmed that more films are on the way. This always seemed like a sure thing, given the immense critical and commercial success of the series' latest entry; this year's Mad Max: Fury Road.  But now we have confirmation from the man himself that at least two more films are coming. Here's what he told motoring site Top Gear:

"So we ended up with two scripts, without really trying. We're talking to the studio about it as we speak, but which one of the two stories will happen next, I'm not so sure. I want to do a small film without special effects before I do any of that, just to do it quickly. We shot Fury Road for eight months... that's a lot. Every day in the heat and the dust, doing these stunts, it's very wearing. We've got two more planned, but at some point in the future."

No time table has been set for when these two movies might hit theatres, but it shouldn't be as long as the 30 year gap between Fury Road and its predecessor: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

Unfortunately for Miller fans, it looks like the director won't be the captain for the upcoming Superman sequel Man of Steel 2. In a sit down with Digital Spy, he put an end to the speculation saying:

'There's been some of that in the mix, but I say probably not true.' In addition he said: "I hope the next film I make is a very small film without any special effects and not many stunts."

A comic book blockbuster certainly doesn't fit that description.
