‘Empire’ Season 2: 50 Cent Blames Fewer Viewers On ‘Extra Gay Stuff’ + Could Nicole Kidman Join Lee Daniels’ Show?

The first season of "Empire," released at the beginning of 2015, was launched to critical and viewership success, earning three Emmy nominations including a nod for star Taraji P. Henson as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series; now, as the "Empire" season 2 launches with a rocky star, one rapper gets into trouble for his indelicate use of language.

50 Cent isn't exactly known to be the quietest person in the world of entertainment, so it came as no surprise that he felt the need to comment on why the beginning of the "Empire" season 2 got fewer viewers - and he ended up looking homophobic.

According to Hollywood Life, the whole thing started when the rapper began going on about ratings of the "Empire" season 2 on his Instagram, pointing out that there were fewer viewers than before.

"There are 3 million less [sic] viewers who tuned into last night's Empire episode!!!! did you watch it? We could not take the extra gay stuff or celebrity stuff last night!!!!" wrote 50 Cent on the "Empire" season 2, prompting waves of hate over his use of the term "gay stuff" as demeaning; the rapper quickly took the post out upon seeing everyone's reaction.

As The Huffington Post reports, the "gay stuff" the rapper was referring to was openly gay character Jamal Lyons (played by Jussie Smollet) as well as a lesbian investor played by Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei.

Now, interestingly enough, Tomei may not be the only Oscar winner on the "Empire" season 2, as Nicole Kidman recently told the show's creator (who once directed her and Zac Efron on "The Paperboy") on Interview Magazine that she'd be completely on board to guest-star on the critically acclaimed show.

Could the Aussie star join Terrence Howard in the show? Hopefully, if she does, it'll be on time for the "Empire" season 2!
