'Friendship Bracelet' Literally Lights Up When Friend is Close

Teenagers are very much regarded when it comes to setting trends and wearing the most hip clothing items and accessories out today.

But it is also well known that the young adults are also very much involved in technology. They are after all born and molded when technology was at its pentacle.

So startup tech company, Gemio, took fashion and technology and brought it together in their newest "fashion-tech" friendship bracelets.

Although there are numerous tech accessories out in the market today that is aimed for young teens. Such as rings and necklaces, Gemio's bracelet is the only available tech accessory that allows for intricate customization.

This makes the Gemio friendship bracelet far superior from its competitors.

The idea behind the friendship bracelet is connecting with friends and self-expression that teens seem to be very involved in.

We designed it for teens because they are trendsetters in both fashion and technology," Michael Bettua, CEO of Gemio, tells Mashable. "We focused on what's important to them: self-expression and connecting with friends."

Gemio has an app for the friendship bracelets called the "MyGemio" and from here the owner can customize his/her bracelet.

The light on the bracelet changes color depending on your customization. A change in the color of light depends on who's with who, and the gesture and what the person is wearing.

The Gemio friendship bracelet comes in many color and style but the owners can personalize their bracelet by changing detachable gems using an online design studio by MyGemio.

Users can also use the bracelet to communicate through a series of light appearance, which is very familiar to Morse code. It can be customized as well for one's own taste.

The Gemio friendship bracelet comes at a price of $69 and $99 and will be available by late November at gogemio.com
