Pope's Foes Said He Has Brain Tumor

Yesterday, Pope Francis' foes report that he had a brain tumor has surfaced.

Reuters said that this conspiracy theory is worthy of a novel by Dan Brown that sprouted in the Italian media on Oct. 22, Thursday. The Pope's foes are looking to undermine him by spreading the rumor that he had a brain tumor, in which the Vatican denied angrily. It is inexcusable and irresponsible and instead of fading out, this has expanded and is looked for hidden intrigue behind it.

The headline says "Who Wants The Pope Dead" in the newspaper Il Giornale and then La Stampa and La Repubblica show "shadow of a plot" on the front papers' pages, The New York Times added. However, most papers concluded that this story regarding the pope is false. But then commentators as well as churchmen are trying to understand the reason of this made- up story.

Yahoo also notes that Massimo Franco, the leading political columnist, has written that the intrigue might have probably emerged in the murkiest Vatican underground and has a goal of de-l egitimizing the Pope.

This is "called the saga part of a 'calumny to block change'" by La Stampa, which all rooted from a Quotidiano Nazionale report, in which Vatican has been secretly visited by a Japanese doctor in January to examine the Pope. It is then concluded that he had a benign tumor, which could be treated without undergoing surgery.

However, this has been denied by the Vatican and Takanori Fukushima, the Japanese doctor, has stated via his office in North Carolina that he has never examined the Pope medically and that the story is completely false.

L'Osservatore Romano, the Vatican's own newspaper, said that this intrigue is merely a "cloud of dust" that is raised in an attempt to manipulate. But it is thwarted and will be in vain because Pope Francis is in good shape.
