Teen Football Player Surprises Mom and Toddler with a Good Deed

Megan Shufflebarger, a mother of three isn't a newbie to the "oohing" and "ahhing" given to her by children as they walk down on a toy aisle.

When Kinley, her youngest daughter, looked over at the Target shelves in advance for her birthday, Megan listened to a stockpile of her birthday wishes - and it appears that she wasn't the only one.

The 2-year-old girl was standing in front of a line of dolls when she paused and looked at the last blonde one on the ledge. Sooner than the question "Can I?" could come out to her mouth, a young man walked over and knelt before her. He asked which one does she like and she said "I really lub dis one." The teenager then chuckled a little and brought the doll with him.

Saddened by the fact that her favorite doll was now out of view, she then turned to ask her mom where the "dolly" was. Confidently, Megan assured her that there would be more.

Some moments later, the young man came back to the aisle with the girl's favorite doll.

He took it out of his bag while giving Kinley's mom the receipt and wished the kid to have a very happy birthday.

Shufflebarger told CBS News that she was speechless during that moment. She posted and shared the story to hundreds of her friends on Facebook, with a picture of the teenager together with Kinley, who also had her own "sweet little amazed smile" on her face.

Consequently, someone tagged the little girl's hero as Tario Fuller II, a freshman football player at Purdue University after garnering more than 55,000 shares.

Moreover, the Purdue Athletics shared the post on its Facebook page saying that they couldn't be more proud of the kind of young men and women that they have in their athletics department.

Megan told the young man that she was thankful to him for showing her and the world that hope in the society as a whole is in fact not lost.

Shufflebarger also hopes that perhaps this incident will also inspire and humble others to pay it forward more often.
