Apple News: $50 Off on Apple Watch If You Buy Any iPhone for a Limited Time Only!

Apple has come up with a marketing strategy that would sell off its Apple Watch.  Now that the holiday is looming around the corner, Apple has changed its strategy from buy-by-appointment selling to direct approach offering $50 off when you buy an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s plus.

Reports from Macworld state that Apple is cutting the price of the Apple Watch for the first time since it launched.  Reports have circulated Monday that some Apple Stores have started selling the Apple Watch with a $50 discount if customers buy it along any iPhone.  So if you are planning to buy an older model, say iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, you are still eligible to take advantage of the great discount.

However there's a catch: the promo will run for a limited time only. The limited-time promotion is only available in stores and not online at Apple.com or on the Apple Store iOS app.  The promo also doesn't apply when purchasing the high-end Watch models like the Apple Watch Edition and the Apple Watch Hermes.

According to The Hoops, not all physical locations will honour this promotion.  Only select physical outlets are eligible for the promo.  Here are the Apple Stores locations eligible for the promo: Burlingame, Chestnut Street, Corte Madera, Hillsdale, San Francisco, and Stonestown in California, and Boylston Street, Burlington, CambridgeSide Galleria, and Chestnut Hill in the Boston area.

The other catch the news site pointed out is the total cost of buying these devices.  The iPhone 6s is said to start at $649 while the Apple Watch Sport would drop down to $349 given the special discount.  The total is just a few dollars away from $1,000, still a lot of money.

Meanwhile, many see this as a big deal since it's very rare if non-existent that Apple lowers the price of a current-generation product.  This could imply that Apple wants to move more Watch units especially that holiday season is fast approaching.

For those looking to purchase an Apple iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus this holiday season, you may now have the opportunity to purchase an Apple Watch or Apple Watch Sport with a $50 discount.  Target is said to launch a better deal next week.
