McDonald's Employee Charged With Selling Heroin in Happy Meal Boxes

Would you like heroin with your Happy Meal?

According to the Associated Press, a McDonald's employee in Pittsburgh was arrested Wednesday after police discovered her selling of heroin in the chain's Happy Meal boxes.

Shania Dennis was arrested after undercover policemen discovered that she was selling packs of heroin to drive-thru customers, according to a statement from Mike Manko, communications director for the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office.

Manko told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that customers who were looking to get a fix would place an order at the East Liberty fast food joint using the phrase, "I'd like to order a toy."

They were then directed to the first drive through window and were handed a Happy Meal box containing packets of heroin. A spokesperson for the police department stated that in exchange for the disguised drugs, Dennis was handed cash.

Undercover agents, who set up a drug buy, received 10 stamp bags of heroin inside of a Happy Meal box for $82. She reportedly placed $2 in the register and placed the remaining cash in her bra, Police Chief Greg Geppert said.

After arresting Dennis, officials found an additional 50 bags of heroin and a small amount of marijuana, the AP reported. Dennis is being charged with "two counts of possession, one count of criminal use of a communication facility, one count of prohibited acts of delivery and one count of possession with intent to deliver."

Authorities said the heroin bust is not related to the potentially lethal batches of heroin that killed 22 people in southwestern Pennsylvania in recent weeks.
