Carly Rae Jepsen Cancels Bucharest Concert Following the Horrific Incident

Carly Rae Jepsen cancelled her scheduled concert in Romania on Thursday, to give respect to the victims in the nation's nightclub inferno last week that claimed 30 lives and sent 130 revelers to the hospital.

The 29 year old 'Call Me Maybe' songstress was supposed to hit the stage of Bucharest but decided not to push through in respect to the 30 victims, who died and 130 who were hospitalized after a pyrotechnic display went wrong at the Romania's Colectiv nightclub.  .

As the country continues to bounce back from the tragic incident, Carly thinks that it is not the best time to go on stage to perform for the Romanian people. "Out of respect to everyone affected by the tragic fire, my concert in Bucharest won't be taking place today," she announced on Twitter on Thursday. Adding, "Sending so much love to Romania."

Meanwhile, Carly is currently celebrating after she scored high on reviews over her third studio album 'Emotion.' "I wanted a balance of indie production and catchy melodies, something a little more understated and yet with these great pop sensibilities," Jepsen said to Boston Herald.

She described her latest music "a passion project" and says the love for "Emotion" blindsided her. "I have been amazed by the response," she added. "If I wrote the album hoping it would be loved or sell a million copies, it wouldn't work. I needed to write what I wanted to write."

Following her tour success, Jepsen is currently preparing for a more bigger stage performance, which will be in Canada next year. But though she is getting more popular and capturing the market industry, she insisted that everything she does are just for the love of music and to earn respect.

"I don't keep track of that kind of stuff - sales and tickets," she said. "I guess I should, but I don't."
