Celebrity Mixologist Darryl Robinson Found Dead in Brooklyn Apartment at Age 50 (VIDEO)

Celebrity mixologist Darryl Robinson was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment Wednesday morning, the New York Daily News Reported.

A police report stated that the 50-year-old's body was found unresponsive in his second-floor, Bed-Stuy apartment by police shortly after midnight after a concerned friend called to report he could not reach the bartender

There is no official report on what caused the death of the former star of "Drink Up" on the Cooking Channel. Police said there were no signs of trauma, but his death is currently under investigation

"At learning of this morning's sad news, our thoughts go out to Darryl's family and friends" a Cooking Channel spokeswoman said.

Robinson appeared on his own show "Drink Up," where he taught viewers how to create simple but creative cocktails. However, the show only lasted one season. After that, the "Ultimate Cocktail Specialist" went on to appear on shows such as "Access Hollywood," VH1's "Morning Buzz" and "The Wendy Williams Show".

Robinson's friend, Maggie Mistal, said the mixologist worked hard to make a name for himself.

"He really worked at making himself a brand and made a career out of it. He always wanted to do more, be bigger," Mistal said. "Everybody is just as shocked as I am. We're all confused."

In 2012, the Long Island native, who has his own mixology business, DR Mixologist, said he never thought he would become a nationally known bartender.

"A lot of mixologists like to infuse things, but I want to be accessible. I'd rather you feel comfortable and ask a question and know that the answer isn't that complicated," he told the Daily News.

Robinson's last post on his website was a Super Bowl mezcal cocktail on February 1.
