Daniel Craig Off to Star in His 'Last' James Bond Film?

Daniel Craig, dubbed as the best Bond since Connery, might be ready to give up the iconic role. Craig had been in downbeat with his interviews when asked if he will do another Bond film in the future.

The classic Agent 007 role has gained Daniel Craig popularity beyond any other movies he ever made. The 3rd James Bond franchise he made, "Skyfall" passed the staggering one billion dollar mark box office.

'Spectre' the 4th Bond film for Craig, earned £41.3 million in its opening week in the UK alone. Days prior its premier in the US, it has made over £51 million from its openings in the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Jeff Kelly of Whisky Tango Entertainment said: "The figures are very impressive for this movie".

"The positive word of mouth about it has prompted many people to see the movie on Friday, and we expect to see those numbers swell dramatically. There is huge interest in seeing the stunts, fight scenes and the resurrection of Spectre."

Producers and film bosses are positive that Craig will do his 5th and last role as James Bond. "We think we've got him but we don't have a contract," says producer Michael G Wilson.

A source also added, "Daniel has been a huge success as 007 and is loved by fans so he isn't going anywhere yet".

"The directors know they would be daft to replace him at a stage where he is so popular. It's almost certain he will do one more outing as Bond".

"Then the search for a replacement will start. Daniel has always made it quite clear that he will be available to play the role for as long as he is required."

Craig replaced Pierce Brosnan in 2006. And since then, Craig earned a top spot in the franchise.

However, Sam Mendes, the director of 'Skyfall' and 'Spectre' is positive that he will not direct another Bond movie.

"There is a sense of completeness that wasn't there at the end of Skyfall," said Mendes.

"And that's what makes this feel different. It feels like there's a rightness to it, that I have finished a journey."

Among the possible replacements for Craig in case he finally gives up the role are Damien Lewis, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.
