Drive-Thru Clinic: Gets You Ready For Influenza Season

Lead by the Georgia Department of Health, the health departments are hosting the statewide drive-thru flu vaccinations. As reported in WJCL, law enforcement agencies and emergency management agencies will also play their role in the upcoming events.

Diane Weems, M.D., Coastal Health District Health Director states, "Getting vaccinated is the best protection against the flu and there is no more convenient way to get vaccinated than never having to leave your own vehicle," she added "We are also using these clinics as a way to assess public health's ability to quickly provide medication should it become necessary during a real world event."

These are the health departments in Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, and Liberty counties that will provide drive-through flu vaccination clinics on Tuesday, November 17. Flu injections will be available for $29. High-dose flu vaccine, offered for people 65 and older, will be $50.
