Pot Pizza Served At Vancouver Pizzeria: Mega Ill Offers Marijuana-Infused Food (VIDEO)

Forget the pepperoni, mushrooms and extra cheese; why not just top your favorite pizza with pot?

Mega Ill café in East Vancouver has given their customers the option of coating their pizza with a special extra topping: marijuana, according to Tech Times. For an extra $10, they will infuse the pizza dough with THC, "the active ingredient found in cannabis plants that give the feeling of being 'high.'"

"Basically, we infuse it through an oil-extraction process," Anthony Risling, Mega Ill employee, said. "We drizzle the oil onto the pizza and it medicates you when you eat it. It's a little different from smoking it. It takes about a half hour for it to activate."

However not everyone can get this order. Patrons must be over 18 and have a medical exemption that allows them to smoke legally. Owned by Mark and Stephen Klokeid, Mega Ill is the first pizzeria-vapor lounge in Vancouver.

Mark told CTV News that since there are other vapor lounges around town, adding a pizzeria to the trend seemed like a good idea. Tech Times reported that Stephen is a medical marijuana user himself. The owners said business has been good so far.

"With a dream of a marijuana friendly establishment serving hemp heart pizza with a one of a kind taste, Mega Ill was born," Mega Ill stated on its website. "We strive to offer healthy food in a pot friendly environment with a positive attitude and outlook on life."

As exciting as it might sound, new regulations set to go into effect on April 1 could ban the pizzeria from making marijuana infused pies. If banned, the owner plan to take it off the menu to keep the business open.
