'Last Man Standing' Still Standing Despite Heavy Political Materials

ABC's 'Last Man Standing' is apparently still standing despite of the heavy political humor that it has. Now, on season 5, it would appear that the public embraces Tim Allen's jokes because the ratings would speak for itself.

Earlier this month, the character of Allen as Mike Baxter delivered some lines hitting the topics of marijuana, guns and even Bill Cosby. Usually, America or some of its viewers would have some strong negative reactions on those, but people love it. NewsBusters published in their article the said segments the show was on during this year's Halloween have definitely increased its ratings.

According to The Inquisitr, on the latest episode of the show, Allen even hit some 'democrats' jokes and everybody just really laughed about it.

Here is another interesting factoid about this show that was just documented recently. Back in November 13, when Paris was hit so hard by terrorism, the show increased its ratings by 8% and its audience even reached up to 7.47 million. That's a leap of 10% from their usual number of viewers. It is quite surprising since the show is already on its fifth season.

The political content on their material is most likely the cause of its increase in both ratings and viewers. It would figure since that week, the world was focused on a lot of political issues and the words delivered that episode has somewhat hit home. Everybody's eyes were on the government, the state and the leaders of the country.

The Inquisitr also pointed out that Jay Leno visiting the show last month could also be among the reasons why the show succeeded on its ratings. It was a funny character that Leno pulled off on the show, as his role was a car junkie named Joe.
