FLOYD MAYWEATHER READY FOR MAIDANA

Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana will this Saturday meet once more on the boxing ring for what is being touted as the biggest boxing match of the year. Mayweather will be hoping to silence critics who are already calling in on his retirement while Maidana will be aiming for a fast paced vengeance over the aging champion who remains undefeated. The two professional boxers will be looking for a KO finish over the opponent for bragging rights and of course redemption.

Floyd Mayweather, age 37, has had an incredible career in competitive boxing with an even more impressive 46-0 record in the ring, 26 being by knockout. He has the reach advantage over Maidana, standing at 5'8 with a reach of 72". Maidana, who turned 31 in July, stands at 5'7 with a 69" reach. He has also had quite a professional career with a 35-4 record in the ring, 31 by knockout.

Mayweather and maidana met early on this year in a bout that saw the Maidana naysayers silenced. In what was to be an entertaining bout, Maidana gave Mayweather everything he had, landing an impeccable 221 punches against the champion's 230 punches. The match that stretched over 12 rounds was decided by majority decision with the scores being 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114.

Going into the match, Maidana's shorter arms compelled the boxer to be the aggressor with Floyd Mayweather playing defensive. The aggressive Argentine playing aggressor played right into Mayweather's strengths, one being his shoulder-roll style that makes it virtually impossible for an opponent to hit him. In the first bout, although El Chino landed 221 punches, he needed 858 punches to do so while Money was more efficient with 230 from 426 punches.

On the eve of their bout, the two boxers will meet once more on the weigh in at the MGM Grand, which will give the fans an opportunity to see the form that both boxers will be in right before the match.
