Indio Downey - Robert Downey Jr. son, the very famous actor who played Iron Man, was in court with his son after he was arrested for drug possession.
Indio Downey is twenty-one years old and son of Actor Robert Downey Jr. and Deborah Falconer, a former Actess and Musician. With Robert, they met and dated for forty-two days before getting married. They stayed married from 1992 to 2004. In that time, they had Indio who was born in 1993.
Indio Downey has gone to court today after he was accused in June of drug possession. His father was with him and they faced the facts together. Indio Downey was not convicted but sentenced to a Drug-diversion program.
According to Blair Berk, his attorney, Indio Downey had already been in a Drug Rehab Facility for seventy days and would stay twenty more.
What has been said is that if Indio Downey goes through the diversion program successfully, because he is a first time offender and hasn't really presented any violent acts together with the arrest, then if he stays out of trouble for 18 months after the drug diversion program, then the conviction will be dismissed.
The especially ironic fact is that Robert Downey Jr. has had a tough past with drugs already. He even had an interruption in his career of several years because of abuses of drugs. So, to some this is considered a case of "apple not falling far from the tree."
It doesn't seem that way, and Indio Downey has said to the judge today, noted by the LA Times, "I appreciate this opportunity and I intend to make the most of it."
Apart from this fact, Indio Downey has been doing a name for himself with his music. He is in a band called The Seems which plays rock, mostly in West Hollywood.
With some luck and good behavior, this felony will be left in the past and Indio Downey can continue with his life and his music.
