In the new images that surfaced on December 4, the 55-year-old actor could be seen with a medical device around his neck and a red bandana hanging loosely below it.
The device looked suspiciously like a tracheostomy tube, which according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is “a surgically made hole that goes through the front of your neck and into your trachea or windpipe to help you breathe.”
His concerning appearance comes just weeks after he denied having throat cancer. In October he penned a statement to fans reassuring them that he had a clean bill of health after he was spotted at UCLA Medical Center.
“Thank you all for your love and support. There’s a rumor I’m unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue. I was in to verify I have no tumor or infection of any kind which was verified by the very caring experts at UCLA,” he wrote on Facebook at the time.
However the latest images have once again left fans worried despite the fact his overall appearance appears improved compared to recent months.
The actor has been spotted mostly covered up in recent months, wearing scarves and shirts buttoned tightly around his neck, even in the dead of summer.
The odd fashion choices have caused concern among fans, who took it as a sign of failing health.
Prior to his October visit however, Val was rushed to the hospital in January to undergo tests for a possible tumor but the actor denied that he had any operations and instead said that he had a complication and assured his fans that he was receiving the best care.
However by June, he once again looked unwell fueled by his increasingly gaunt appearance.
