Calbee Added Cola Flavoured Chips For The Holiday

Calbee has been known to collaborate with different food companies to come up with unique chip flavours. Japanese snack maker Calbee has added a line of cola-flavoured chips for the holiday and you won't get your hands on them just as easily.

Calbee is most popular with their delicious shrimp chips that are mostly available at any Asian markets. The company has been offering lightly salted and consommé-flavoured chips for years now. Despite competition coming up with other different flavours like coffee and orange, the country has pioneered their original flavour. With the cola-flavoured chips however, you have to be pretty lucky to get them. As reported by Rocket News 24, foreigners and Japanese alike are "clawing" their way to get their hands on the unique flavoured cola chips.

For the first time, Calbee has decided to venture to unknown territory by offering the cola-flavoured chips. However there's something you need to do before you get these unique potato snack. These snacks will only be available in crane games and won't be sold in stores. Yes, you heard it right.

Calbee and Namco organized a promotional campaign and these chips will be featured as prizes. Starting December 18, these chips will be available for you to grab on at any 200 Namco-owned amusement centers nationwide. You have to earn them to taste them.

Some of you may be skeptical if the potato snack is really worth the hype. Think about the collaboration of the world's two most popular junk food companies. If that won't convince you, both companies claim that the cola-flavoured chips taste positively "revolutionary".

Earlier this year, Calbee also offered a unique flavour in their line of potato chips. The same news site reported that the snack maker had unveiled a KFC inspired potato chip: KFC Colonel's Crispy Potato Chips. They were offered for a limited time only.

Next time you're at a game center, why not try your luck and win these potato chips instead? They have a promotional video to encourage you. Watch this:
