Be Fit Like Them: ‘My Diet is Better Than Yours’ Trainers Discuss Their Fitness Philosophies

For all those who are on a diet or hoping to be fitter, ABC's "My Diet is Better Than Yours" is a great inspiration, but sadly, only the contestants are losing weight right now.

However, if you are a follower of the show, then you can definitely shed a few pounds with these easy tips, which are being shared by the trainers.

Notably, ABC launched this weight loss series to help the contestants lose weight. In this show, five competitors pick a specific trainer and a diet plan that they think will give them the best opportunity to shed a few calories.

To help the viewers to achieve their New Year goals of shedding pounds, two trainers recently shared their secrets.

Abel James from the Wild Diet has mentioned that the first priority for "living your best life" is to quit worrying about the calories, according to People.

"Just focus on eating real food, preferably veggies and protein, every single meal," he says.

He also suggests staying away from diet foods like nutrition bars and just ignoring the nutrition facts, but making sure that the ingredients are all "real food."

For the trainer who is mentoring contestant Kurt Morgan, Seafood is a big way to shed pounds along with wild game.

"These healthy animals will help you burn more fat that factory-farmed frankenfoods," says the mentor.

For Carolyn Barnes losing holistic approach can help lose weight better. The trainer who suggests program that includes using everyday activity to lose weight mentions that honesty, awareness, truth, love and gratitude is the basis of her diet philosophy.

"Until you get to the root of why you're holding onto weight and the bigger picture, then you can't have a sustained lifestyle change," she says. "It's not about magical results, kicking your legs up and expecting sunshine to happen. You've got to do the work. It's about decluttering your mind, your body and your surroundings."
