It's that time of the year again in America to celebrate because the Fourth of July is coming this weekend! Despite the ongoing pandemic around the world and social issues in the country, Americans will still be celebrating the 4th of July. Although massive events and crowded places are prohibited in the country, celebrating at home can be done with a limited number of guests.

Americans mostly celebrate the Fourth of July through a small barbeque gathering. They love to do barbeques in their backyards and call their closest friends and family. If you're planning on gathering some friends over to celebrate, here are some tips you can follow for a successful Fourth of July barbeque celebration.

Plan Ahead and Early

Just like planning a birthday party or small gathering in your home, planning ahead of time for a Fourth of July barbeque is recommendable. Hosting a barbeque party, regardless of how many guests you invited, can be stressful at times. It would help if you made sure that everything is organized, from the invitations down to the barbeque marinades.

Planning will be more effective if you have a to-do list. A list will be easy to check and see if things are going according to the plan. Ask your guests if they are planning to bring some potluck or side dishes for you to avoid preparing the same dish.

Be Creative

Parties and gathering will be more enjoyable if you bring in some creativeness. Since its a country holiday, you may add some hints of red and blue accents in your barbeque setting to patronize the Fourth of July. You may opt to use a white tablecloth and decorate it with blue napkins and red roses. You can also put small American flags all around your yard. If you have kids, you can buy some red and blue balloons.

Stick to an Uncomplicated Menu

It only highlights one type of dish in every barbeque party: the barbeque itself. We all know that barbeque might take time to cook, therefore, preparing light snacks and side dishes can be essential. You may set out chips and some small snacks as you and your guests wait for the barbeque to finish grilling.

As for your barbeque plate, don't overdo the presentation. Pair your meats with something delicious yet straightforward, such as grilled corn, asparagus, or some veggie skewers. You may also cook mashed potatoes or baked veggies as your sides. If you want to have a more interactive gathering, you can make a make-your-own burger station for you and your guests to engage in.

Sit Back and Relax

Despite the stressful preparations, the main point of having a celebration is to enjoy the holiday. Fourth of July is about spending time with the people you care about the most, such as family and friends. Let everyone in the gathering interact and engage roles in the barbeque.

If you're hosting a barbeque party on the Fourth of July, it is advisable to start grilling early in the afternoon so you and your guests will have more time to have fun. You can enjoy the sunset as you grill the barbeque and even catch some fireworks display in the evening.
