Whatever healthy and balanced diet that you are following, it is always important to monitor your fat intake. When you're trying to lose weight and plan to develop a low-fat diet, reducing fat intake is highly necessary. 

Sometimes, limiting your fat intake is not that bad. It can be beneficial to your overall health. For low-fat diets, it is advisable to take for someone who has issues with their gallbladder and pancreas. If you have a disease related to these two organs, limiting your fat intake is the first step. 

If you're planning to eliminate fat and replace them with healthier, low-fat options, here are six low-fat foods that you can take and apply on your diet. 

Leafy greens

Leafy vegetables are the number one foods that low-fat diet takers eat. They contain zero fat and has tons of beneficial nutrients, including potassium, folate, vitamin A and K, minerals, and calcium.

Green vegetables are also high in certain plant compounds that show less risk to inflammation in your body. Thus, many experts and dieticians suggest that diets that contain intake of leafy greens are healthy and helps you fight off the risk of getting diabetes, cancer, and heart diseases. Common leafy greens are spinach, kale, arugula, romaine lettuce, and swiss chard. 

Fruits

Almost all fruits in the world contain high nutrients and vitamins, including minerals and fiber as well. Fruits are low in fat, and they are the best option to eat when you crave something sweet. Instead of eating junk food snacks and processed food, a fruit is a healthier and more delicious option. 

Legumes and beans

Legumes are commonly known as pulses, and they are a type of vegetable that is similar to beans, lentils, and peas. Beans are known to have zero cholesterol, and they are deficient in fat. They are also high in protein, vitamin B, fiber, and minerals such as iron, zinc, and magnesium. Mushrooms

Mushrooms are not only delicious, but they are also fat-free! Although they do not fall in any category in the food groups, mushrooms are neither a vegetable, fruit, grain, or animal product. However, they are considered as fungi, which is functional medicine for years now. Some edible mushrooms include oyster, crimini, white button, shiitake, and portabella. 

Chicken Breast

The chest is the leanest part of the chicken, and its nutrients depend on how you cook it. If you roast a chicken breast, you will get 3 grams of fat but about 26 grams of protein. Chicken is also rich in other minerals such as vitamin B6, phosphorus, selenium, and niacin.
