Hip-hop icons Snoop Dogg and Master P are swapping rhymes for lawsuits as they take on retail giant Walmart and food manufacturer Post Consumer Brands. The rappers' company, Broadus Foods, claims Post and Walmart intentionally sabotaged their "Snoop Cereal,"

Why is Snoop Dogg Suing Walmart and Post?

The 34-page lawsuit details a shocking accusation: Post initially tried to swallow the competition whole, attempting to outright buy Snoop Cereal. Snoop and Master P felt that selling the company outright would  "destroy the whole purpose of leaving the company to their families."  The suit claims that Post then allegedly entered a "false" partnership, pretending to support the brand while secretly aiming to "choke Broadus Foods out of the market." Lawyer Ben Crump, representing Snoop and Master P, states, "This case exposes the challenges faced by minority-owned businesses in securing fair opportunities."

Did Walmart Hide Snoop Cereal?

Snoop and Master P don't mince words, claiming Walmart actively hid "Snoop Cereal" in stockrooms. They claim the alleged ploy was aimed to stifle sales and damage their brand. Master P went as far as to record an Instagram video that supposedly proves the theories. When Walmart employees were asked if the product was available on camera, the common answer was that it was "out of stock" but then unpacked shipments of the products were found in storerooms.

What Do Post and Walmart Say About the Snoop Lawsuit?

Both companies fired back at the lawsuit with contrasting statements. Post pointed the finger at "disappointing consumer demand," while Walmart emphasized its commitment to minority-owned businesses and attributed low sales to various factors. However, neither addressed the specific accusations of hidden stock or misleading customers.

This legal battle pits two hip-hop legends against corporate giants and this case is set to be a courtroom showdown. Stay tuned as we follow the developments and see if Snoop and Master P get their cereal the shelf space and respect it deserves.
