Neck Break At Blackpool Coaster – Freak Accident Leaves Man Seriously Injured

Neck Break Blackpool Coaster - It happened in Blackpool Pleasure Beach that Robert Sycamore entered a ride and came out of it with his neck broken.

Sycamore, a 58 year-old man, was visiting Blackpool Pleasure Beach with his family and decided to ride the Grand National wooden roller coaster with his great nephew. It was even the first ride of the day for them, according to The Mirror.

Then, the carriages of the ride started gaining speed and the body of Sycamore went suddenly limp. Another fact that has been revealed, though, is that the man suffered from spondylitis, which is an inflammation in the back.

The first reaction was from Harry, Sycamore's great nephew, who left screaming from the Blackpool coaster and to get his father.

Darren Parlour, Sycamore's nephew climbed into the ride and held his uncle's head.

"Rob's a big bloke and he was down in the footwell of the carriage. His ear was on his shoulder and he was totally blue and black. His neck snapped - the muscles collapsed and he's just melted into the seat," Parlour described the situation and the Daily Mail noted.

After that, the emergency services arrived and took him to the hospital. Because of the broken neck, he had to be put in a life support machine in order to breath and due to the lack of movement that he can do with his body at the moment.

Any use of his body is prohibited right now, Parlour also said. He has also stated that his family and him are shocked at what happened in the Blackpool coaster mostly, but they don't blame anyone for the situation.

Parlour lives in Ipswich, which is a 700 mile road trip to get to the Royal Preston Hospital and near the Blackpool coaster, where the broken neck accident with his uncle took place. They'll have to go back and forth now.
