Why These Foods Can Make You Smell Horrible?

Do you wonder why some people stink? What you eat can directly affect on how you smell.  Watch out for these foods that can make you smell bad.

"Body smells are caused by a number of factors working in combination," says Dr. Rosemary Lester, Victoria's chief health officer. "These include chemicals in sweat, wastes excreted through the skin, the actions of bacteria that live on the skin, and unwashed clothes."

"It is those first two factors that could be influenced by what we eat, though not necessarily in the direct way some people imagine."

Coffee

Coffee is a natural energy booster, but it is also perks up your sweat glands.  Coffee is diuretic that can dry out your mouth, makes you thirsty and leave you with bad smell and taste.  It also comes out in your sweat glands that make you stench.

According to Medical Daily, Justyna Trzesniowski, Registered Nurse, and a past coffee barista stated that coffee contributes to growth of bacteria in the mouth.

Junk Foods

Junk Foods are no#1 cause of body odor because any food that is difficult to digest or processed stays in the digestive tract for long time so they develop awful odor on sweat and in your breath.

Cruciferous Vegetables (Broccoli, Cabbage, Brussels sprouts)

Cruciferous Vegetables contain sulfur that contributes to body odor.  They are packed with antioxidants that fight toxins, but they are also foods that promote strong smell in your body.  This also leads to flatulence due to the sulfur content that makes it smell like rotten egg.

Curry or Cumin

The aroma of Indian chicken curry may make fall in love with this food, however, curry and cumin can stay in your pores and make you smell.  Instead of using cumin, why not add aromatic cardamom?

Onions

Onions are powerful odor promoter in the body. Onion oils are absorbed into the bloodstream and later come out of your breath.  If you eat more onions, the more the smell lingers in your body and makes you stink.

Red Meat

Live Lighter reported that red meat is not easily digested so these foods stay longer in the digestive tract. They release toxins and fetid smelling gases that come out usually in the sweat and flatulence.
