Google’s Artificial Neural Network to Fight Spam

Google announced today,  that they are now using the articficial intelligence of Google Search and Google Now's .  to fight spam. Every time clicking the "Report spam" and "Not spam" buttons - it is like teaching Gmail what does and doesn't matter

The spam filter of Gmail uses an artificial neural network, in order to detect and block the especially sneaky spam - The Gmail inbox will not receive irrelevant or inappropriate messages known as spam.

As Gmail needs to adjust accordingly, the Google spam filter is now better  at identifying individual preferences like in which the person's inbox can avoid the same repetitive emails, whether that's daily jokes, weekly newsletters, monthly reminders, or just notifications from some random service.

The email impersonation can be eliminated completely by the Gmail's spam filter. In reducing the effectiveness of phishing scam, Gmail's new machine learning signals help to the service to figure out whether a message actually came from its sender.

The senior product manager for Gmail, John Rae-Grant stated, "One of the great things about machine learning is that it adapts to changing situations."

John Rae-Grant said, as Google  is now used by 900 million people worldwide, Gmail's spam filters doesn't just check junk by applying pre-existing rules but it also create new rules with themselves as they go along.

According to Rae-Grant, he said, the Gmail uses some tools that adjust its spam filters so that they can suit the particular preferences.

Rae-Grant stated, "We track and try to approximate based on what you have previously paid attention to and reported as spam - what you want in front of you and don't want it front of you. So, in addition to this big machine learning model that's learning from everybody's reporting, we're then fine-tuning things for the individual."

At the same time, the Gmail Postmaster Tools will also be launched by Google company, Gmail Postmaster Tools minimize the company's important emails to get put into Gmail's spam folder.
