Beef Recall 2012 List of Stores in the US, includes Albertson’s, Kroger, Ralph’s and Walmart

XL Foods Inc. based in Alberta, Canada, has taken full responsibility for the E. coli contamination in its beef products which has prompted a massive recall throughout US and Canada. Numerous retailers in the US including Albertson's, Kroger, Ralph's and Walmart were stocked with the recalled beef.

The recall has now been expanded to more than 1,500 beef products since September 16.

According to FoodBeat, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said that XL Foods was found with "insanitary conditions that resulted in a high [contamination] event period. Therefore, all products produced on the affected dates are considered adulterated and must be either destroyed or verified as having received a full lethality treatment." The affected dates are August 24, 27, 28, 29, and September 5th.

For those customers from the United States, the recalls have only recently begun but there is no end in sight. The United States Department of Agriculture and the Food Safety and Inspection Service have brought together a pdf document of all stores where the meat was distributed to. The recalled products have been very widely distributed in Canada. the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has brought together a retail list of vendors who have received the recalled products. These include: CO-OP, Food Basics, Foodland, Giant Tiger, IGA, Costco, Kirkland Signature, Loblaws, Longos, Metro, No Frills, Real Canadian WholeSale Club, Safeway, Sobeys, SuperValu, and Walmart.
