'Deadpool' Spoilers: ‘Faithful’ Colossus Front and Center in Film?

The "Deadpool" movie has been in production for years, and with that comes rumors as to which of the "X-Men" characters will appear in the film. While speculations continue, there is one mutant confirmed to appear in "Deadpool" - metal-skinned Colossus.

In an interview with TechTimes this week, Andre Tricoteux, the new actor playing Colossus in "Deadpool," revealed much about his character's role in the not-so family friendly film.

"I can't give too much away," he said.

However, he added:

"The Colossus you're going to see in Deadpool is very true to the original character in the comic book. Tim Miller had a really clear vision, and the Deadpool people had a really clear vision of what they wanted. They wanted Colossus to be very traditional to the original story. We kept it very traditional to the comic book. Actually, we kept it exactly like the comic book, so you could be able to derive your own conclusion from that."

"Deadpool" will reportedly feature Colossus getting into conflict with the main character at some point.

While the massive mutant has been featured in other "X-Men" films from 2000 and 2014, fans were disappointed with the lack of spotlight.

However, with the release of "Deadpool" next year, there is a high chance that Colossus will be one of the central characters of the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I was pretty familiar with the character, but actually, one of my brothers is a comic fanatic, and Colossus was actually his favourite character, so he was kind of my go-to guy when I needed some quick information. But I was familiar with the character, and I definitely studied up on him when I knew I got the role," Tricoteux said further.

In July, Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Deadpool" will be an R-rated movie because of its mature content, getting fans more excited with how the film will turn out and which other mutants is set to appear. Rumors suggest that Wolverine is another character to appear, since he has a love/hate relationship with Deadpool.

According to The Inquisitr, writer/producer Simon Kinberg has also confirmed the crossover of "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "Gambit" with "Deadpool", which will appear in theaters February 12, 2016.
