'Duck Dynasty's' Phil Robertson Sticks By Gay Remakes 'I Will Not Give or Back Off My Path'

Phil Robertson has been facing some serious backlash in the wake of his controversial GQ magazine interview, but that doesn't mean the reality star is backing down on his stance against homosexuality.

The 67-year-old granted the Daily Mail, access to a Bible-study class Sunday, at a West Monroe, Louisiana church, where he made his first public comments, defending his anti-gay remarks, since getting suspended from A&E top-rated show, "Duck Dynasty".

Robertson refused to apologize for calling homosexual behavior "sinful" and placing their actions in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity.

"I will not give or back off from my path, because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions," Robertson said, according to an online report.

The reality star let church goers know his comments come from the Bible.

"The acts of the sinful nature are obvious," Robertson read. "Sexual immorality is No. 1 on the list. How many ways can we sin sexually? My goodness. You open up that can of worms, and people will be mad at you over it.

"I am just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago. Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom," he said. "All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn't know it. Whether I said it, or they read it, what's the difference? The sins are the same. Humans haven't changed."

Robertson, who called himself a lover not a fighter, said that he is sure that "Jesus will take [their] sins away."

"If you're a homosexual, he'll take it away," he said. "If you're an adulterer, if you're a liar, what's the difference? If you break one sin you may as well break them all...If we lose our morality, we will lose our country. It will happen."

Robertson's comments have caused a division of belief and freedom of speech, but family, friends and hometown supports are standing behind the duck clan and his comments.

"They're an extremely tight-knit family and they're not going to let this get in the way," a source connected to the family, told E! News. "[Phil] is the reason for their success, they're not going to abandon him. They're also not about to let anyone threaten their religious beliefs."

Cracker Barrel announced Friday that their stores would no longer sell Duck Dynasty paraphernalia "which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation."

The company later dismissed their comments and put the show's products back on shelves.

"When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers," Cracker Barrel said. "Our intent was to avoid offending, but that's just what we've done."
