White Castle Reintroduces 'White Castle Slider-Scented Candles' For A Good Cause

Planning a seductive date night? Chocolate roses and candles that smell like White Castle Original sliders, make for a perfect evening.

According to Foodbeast, fast food chain, White Castle has brought back its infamous slider-scented White Castle candle. The candle, which is shaped like the slider box, reportedly fills the home with the scent of hamburgers. The candles are said to capture the burger-and-onion scent.

While a hamburger-scented candle is a unique concept, the idea behind the product is what counts. The Huffington Post reported that all proceeds from the candle sales will be donated to Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism research and advocacy organization.

According to a press release, the candles were created by Laura Slatkin, the award-winning founder of Nest Fragrances.

"White Castle is pleased to partner with the Craver Nation on such an important philanthropic effort," said Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle. "We are proud to continue the Castle Shares program in the community by working with the Autism Speaks organization to help the millions of families impacted by autism."

Slatkin, an autism advocate, has been deemed the queen of home fragrances. Her loyal customers include, Elton John, Vera Wang and the British Royal Family. In April, the White Castle's Slider hamburger-scented candles were back in honor of National Autism Awareness Month.

"Autism affects nearly two million people and their families," Richardson told the New York Daily News, at the time. "We are proud to stand with them and use this opportunity as one more way the 'Castle Shares' with our communities."

In a 2010 press release, Slatkin and White Castle's owners said they first laughed about the idea.

"But, the more we talked about it, the more I thought to myself, 'What could be better than a candle that smells like a White Castle slider? It's what we all crave, most of all me!'" she said.

More than 10,000 candles have been sold since the candle was introduced in May 2010. This limited-edition candle goes for $15.00 on the White Castle Promo Shop.
