'Baywatch' Movie Update: Alexandra Daddario Cast As Summer, But Who Will Play The New C.J. Parker?

The 'Baywatch' movie has found its new Summer Quinn!

It was recently reported that several young actresses were being tested for the female lead in the highly anticipated film adaptation of the hit TV series. The lineup included 'San Andreas' ingénue Alexandra Daddario, former 'Vampire Diaries' star Nina Dobrev, Ashley Benson from 'Pretty Little Liars' and 'X-Men: Apocalypse' actress Alexandra Shipp. Although it wasn't announced which character the women were being auditioned for, it was confirmed that it would be for a lead role.

Just a few days after the announcement, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has taken to Instagram to confirm that he has a new co-star in 'Baywatch: The Movie.'

The former professional wrestler posted a photo of himself with 'San Andreas' costar Alexandria Daddario with the following caption:

"IT'S OFFICIAL: Want to welcome the talented and gorgeous @alexannadaddario to the cast of #BAYWATCH for the role of 'Summer'. Alex is a one of kind woman (I know from experience) and can't wait for you guys to see her own the role."

Nicole Eggert had originally played the TV show's Summer Quinn, who became close friends with Pamela Anderson's character, the feisty C.J. Parker.

So now that the 'Baywatch' movie has found its 'Summer,' who could possibly play the iconic C.J. Parker?

Although Dwayne Johnson didn't disclose the identity of the actress who will play the famous 'Baywatch' lifeguard, he did confirm that the announcement will be made really soon.

But fans of Nina Dobrev, Ashley Benson and Alexandra Shipp won't have to worry that the actresses might not appear in the film. Dwayne Johnson also shared that the 'Baywatch' movie has several roles to fill.

"The female roles of #BAYWATCH have become extremely hot properties around Hollywood and as promised, the quality women we'll cast are stepping into these roles to have fun and make them iconic for the world to enjoy," he wrote.

Could Nina Dobrev, Ashley Benson or Alexandra Shipp portray C.J. Parker?

The 'Baywatch' movie will also star 'High School Musical' alum Zac Efron and is expected to be released in late 2016.
