The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: New Cast Revealed! Casey Jones Makes Debut in First Trailer - Watch

After the briefest of teasers, the full first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 dropped not long after and it looks like our heroes in a half-shell will be up against some familiar foes from the animated series.

Megan Fox, from the "Transformer" star and Will Arnett, from the "Arrested Development," lead the cast for the film, as April O' Neil and as Vernon Fenwick that also includes William Fichtner as Eric Sacks.

The newcomers Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, "Gone Girl and the Madea," WWE Star Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly as Rocksteady, Gary Anthony Williams, star from "The Internship," as Bebop, Brittany Ishibashi as Karai, with Stephen Amell as the sports-themed vigilante Casey Jones and Brian Tee, from "Jurassic World," as Shredder.

Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, and Noel Fisher will reprise their roles as Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo (Johnny Knoxville did the voice), and Michelangelo.

Shielded by a hockey mask and armed with sports equipment, he’s not necessarily as impressive to behold as the Ninja Turtles, but he’ll do — especially if you’re April! Off comes the mask and Casey’s pretty damn handsome.

Laura Linney, (The Big C and Love Actually) also makes an appearance in the trailer, playing a reporter who asks the now-outed Turtles the question on everyone's lips: "What are you? Superheroes?"

"Just four brothers who hate bullies and love this city," replies the definitely not rude Raphael.

After the 2014 film exceeded box office expectations, Paramount and Nickelodeon officially announced a sequel was greenlit, and due to be released in theatres on June 3, 2016, with plans to incorporate the characters of Casey Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady.

The returning cast is excited about this sequel, but they also revealed that they had some reservation in reprising their roles—because the first film was very difficult.

Alan Ritchson (Raphael) said, “I got to be honest, I was a little nervous about coming back because the first run of this—the first trial run—was pretty tough.”

Jeremy Howard (Donatello) answered the question—while the others deferred—by pausing and saying that Green possessed “kindness” on set.

Noel Fisher (Michelangelo) said that family film will come from spending more time with the turtle family than the humans.

Pete Ploszek (Leonardo) said watching the first film made them realize what worked and what didn’t as far as technology and tone.
